about

A lyrical revision to my 2003 song Gravity

lyrics

Gravity is strong, you can't go for long
Way off the ground, you've got to come down
But the urge to fly, is hard to deny
So you've got to take care

To keep yourself from falling, keep the stars from falling
Keep it all from falling to no bottom
Keep your grip from slipping on the strip of stars you trip upon
And lose yourself til fear is gone
And memories are all forgotten

With many dark charms, and wide open arms
She's hard to resist and she's apt to insist
So you pull away slow, don't let your fear show
You turn and you run

Stars spread across a blanket of night
Signals that beckon, pinholes of light
As you float and you turn on a sphere spinning round
Trying hard in a fog to remember
The trick to not falling is to never look down

The chasm is wide, you look over the side
You're tempted to peer in spite of your fear
You're tempted to leap into the infinite deep
You've got to pull yourself back
